Carpentry Taster Session
Women in Construction is a free taster course for women aged 16 and over to learn more about construction and craft trades.
All workshops are taught by our qualified volunteers within Leicester City Council's housing team. The sessions allow women to learn new skills in an encouraging environment and aim to inspire women to apply for our trade apprenticeship scheme.

Please note that registration will begin at 9:00am and workshops will start promptly at 9.30 - please arrive no later than 9.20, as any late arrivals will be turned away.
Please note that you're able to book more than one taster session for each trade type, however the content covered will be the same for each workshop.
Please be advised that all delegates should wear clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty as some activities may involve hand on tasks where clothing may be exposed to dirt and dust.
Painting and Decorating Taster Session

Women's Construction - Combined Workshops (March 2025)
Join our free workshops and learn valuable trade skills from our qualified operatives within our housing team. These sessions are designed to provide women with hands-on experience in a supportive and encouraging environment. Whether you're looking to pick up a new hobby or considering a career change, our workshops are the perfect opportunity to explore the world of construction.

The workshops will be running the same format every day, therefore we ask that you only book on to one of the sessions.
The workshops are hands-on therefore it is advisable for you to wear appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. You will be loaned appropriate PPE and safety boots on the day.
